Why choose Sublime Book Review?

Finding the right reviews for the right budget can be hard for an Indie or self-published author. And in many cases, you unknowingly pay for a review that is 100% guaranteed positive. While it’s nice for a reviewer to tell you your book is “the greatest book ever written,” this doesn’t necessarily help you, the author, and it certainly doesn’t help the industry leaders (librarians, booksellers, media professionals) make calculated decisions about purchasing your book or requesting your title for their library.

The Century’s Last Word takes up where The Century’s Scribe ended, in the fantasy worlds of Skaltbard and Kroonsaed. The trio of friends, Dreden, Chanin, and Gerrika, need to overcome their emotional problems and prevent a magical weapon from falling into the wrong hands. The continuation of their journey sees them struggling with their relationships between each other, their fathers, and those they love. Danger lies in discovering who to trust and how they will deal with an instrument devised by a devious malefactor from a century earlier.

The Century’s Last Word is a sequel that is less a sequel and more the second part of one story. It would be impossible to read and fully enjoy it as a standalone. Fortunately, I read and reviewed The Century’s Scribe, but having read several novels in between, I would recommend reading these two books back-to-back in order to keep the plot, characters, and action fresh in your mind. This novel delivers new twists and further depth on characters introduced in the first book and adds an extra layer of philosophy to their decisions, their reactions, and their growth. The pace escalates in the second half of the novel as new surprises are added to old characters. This is a high-action, well-developed story that will appeal to all fantasy readers.

Sublime Line: “The author’s magical touch in creating other worlds and developing multifaceted characters continues in this sequel, delivering an action-packed punch and surprising twists.”
