Why choose Sublime Book Review?

Finding the right reviews for the right budget can be hard for an Indie or self-published author. And in many cases, you unknowingly pay for a review that is 100% guaranteed positive. While it’s nice for a reviewer to tell you your book is “the greatest book ever written,” this doesn’t necessarily help you, the author, and it certainly doesn’t help the industry leaders (librarians, booksellers, media professionals) make calculated decisions about purchasing your book or requesting your title for their library.

Tess and her two children, Eva and Micah, live in New Haven and seem to be stuck in the same pattern. When Micah leaves home, a striking opportunity pops up in Sea Haven, where Tess used to spend her summers. She decides to take a chance on a new life. The show “Gilmore Girls” is referenced multiple times throughout the book, and both the show and the book highlight inter-generational relationships. The mother and daughter relationship portrayed in the TV show is the kind of relationship Tess has always dreamed of for her and her daughter. The story follows the family as they move through life while faced with personal challenges along the way. It is during these challenging moments where Eva finds mysterious feathers around her new town that appear to be leaving messages. This story is about family bonds and the building and rekindling of new and old relationships.

Feathers in the Sand is a heartwarming and engaging literary fiction novel. The reader is taken through the narratives of different characters as important moments take place. The introspective narrative makes you feel closer to each character as they focus on the love and challenges in their lives. Particularly, Eva’s narrative brings a childlike charm to the novel. Although the story does not end on a cliffhanger or a tease, the character development is a good lead-in for the next novel. This comforting book can be enjoyed by a wide range of readers, especially those who like to get lost in a good summer read.

Sublime Line: “Anne Marie Bennett writes a heartwarming novel that beautifully portrays love and new beginnings.”
